What is the issue?

Will South Carolina stand up for renewable and solar energy?

How would it affect South Carolina?

The Renewable Energy Package was passed in 2008 but was struck down because it was “bobtailed” to another, unrelated bill. The Renewable Energy Package will reinstate the renewable energy infrastructure fund, make prohibitions on solar collectors unlawful, and permit Renewable Energy Demonstration Projects up to 100 megawatts.

What can you do about it?

Support the Renewable Energy Package by calling or contacting your legislator and asking them to support renewable energy in South Carolina.

  • If we win, we have removed several important barriers to renewable energy at the local and regulatory level.
  • If we lose, renewable energy will remain costly and burdensome for the average consumer.
