Solar Company Seeks Utility Status in Georgia


A start-up in Georgia wants to compete as a utility against Georgia Power. The company says it will develop hundreds of megawatts of solar power, and lower electricity rates by rebating profits to customers. But first, Georgia’s legislature would have to loosen restrictions on competition in electricity markets.
