Dubbed “The Smokestack Effect,” the newspaper’s report gave particularly bad air pollution grades to Chicora School of Communications (formerly Chicora Elementary), Mary Ford Elementary, Charlestowne Academy, Academic Magnet High and North Charleston High.”
