Black River Cypress Preserve Nature Walk

RSVP

Join us to take a special, guided hiking tour of the Swampside Tract at the Black River Cypress Preserve in Andrews, SC! The Black River Cypress Preserve joins 30,000 protected acres along one of South Carolina’s most exotic rivers – the Black River. Well-groomed swampside and pineland trails welcome hikers and bikers, while paddlers can navigate the Black’s tea-colored waters all the way from the headwater swamps to its junction with the Pee Dee River and Winyah Bay.

We will tour around the property with the Education and Recreation Manager as well as our Conservation League staff to learn about the flora and fauna of the park. During the walk, there will be also be an opportunity to learn about the work the Conservation League is doing in the North Coast region and get to know our projects.

What to bring/wear:
– Good shoes to walk through wooded areas
– Clothes appropriate for that day’s weather
– Sun protection, hat, sunscreen, bug spray
– Reusable water bottle (with water in it)
– Any snacks you may want over those two hours.

Should we need to cancel due to weather, we will notify you via email the day before the event. If you need to cancel your spot on the walk, please e-mail Rachel at rachelh@scccl.org to ensure we can open your spot to another attendee.
