St. Helena Sense of Place Workshop Series

Gather with us in the community for guided interactive expressions of what St. Helena looks, sounds, & feels like through art, music, and connection to the land. Throughout the next few months, our five workshops will be led by artists, creatives, and activists from St. Helena – Dat Geechee Gal, Natasha Robinson; Da Loc Doc; Andre (Mr. Bounce Back) & Mahoganee Amigér of Responsible ARTistry, Inc.; and Ed Atkins of Atkins Live Bait. Attend one or all of these workshops, free to all but registration required.

When searching to create, produce, write and perform (ART) that seasons our cultural experience on the history of our food, waterways, land, ancestral genealogy and more it is a SENSE of PLACE that gives us the ingredients to dig deep within to harness and create beautiful HEALING art that impacts, informs and resonates with the people.

Join Music Producer, Sound Engineer and Synesthete André (Mr. Bounce Back) Amigér and Recording Artist, Songwriter, Multi-Disciplinary Artist and Sound Healer Mahoganëë Amigér as they lead a Sound Clinic on how Water Memory and Indigenous Ancestral Honor has guided their Music Production, Vocal Production, Songwriting and visuals to create a snapshot of their cultural journey.

Oystering with Ed

Friday, November 1st

Learn about Beaufort’s special tidal creeks and rich cultural connections to oyster reef populations. At this workshop, get your hands dirty sustainably harvesting oysters and learn about the importance of recycling oyster shells with SCDNR SCORE to create additional habitat.
