Mike has more than 25 years of experience in the fundraising. He has a strong background in the higher education, arts, conservation and healthcare arenas.
Mike Worley most recently served as the director of regional advancement at RIT and of counsel to Palmetto Philanthropy. Previously, Mike served as vice president of advancement and the executive director of the Lander Foundation in Greenwood, SC, senior associate vice president with the Georgia State University Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia. Mike also consulted as a senior associate with the Bentz Whaley Flessner consulting firm working with healthcare, arts and academic clients across the United States. Prior to consulting, Mike served executive director of major and planned giving for the SSM Health Care Foundations in St. Louis as the director of national development at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis; executive director of development for regional projects as well as regional director of development at Washington University in St. Louis; major gifts officer at East Carolina University; and associate executive director of the Ohio University Alumni Association.
Mike is an expert in designing new collaborative initiatives, creating successful strategies, and working with volunteers to meet goals. His areas of expertise include but are not limited to: Major gift solicitation, capital campaign strategy and implementation, volunteer/board development and management, parent and alumni fundraising, annual fund campaigns, alumni/regional programming, constituent relations, and event planning.
Mike is a recognized leader in philanthropy, notably through multiple leadership and speaking engagements at CASE conferences around the country. He has been awarded the CASE Faculty Star three times for national speaking engagements.
Mike earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
Mike resides in Charleston with Renee and is an avid fisher and enjoys many runs across the lowcountry.
