Mary Lovett Pye joins the Coastal Conservation League with a deep-rooted appreciation for the natural world and a lifelong belief that it is our greatest teacher. Originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, she graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South in May 2024 with degrees in Environmental Arts and Humanities and Politics, where her interdisciplinary studies illuminated the inextricable relationship between humanity and the environment and showed her she could turn that passion into a career. Mary Lovett is drawn to the questions of how we as people relate to, shape, and are shaped by the natural world around us, and believes that understanding this connection is at the heart of lasting conservation. Now rooted in the Lowcountry, she brings that passion to CCL as Advancement Associate, supporting donor stewardship efforts, event planning, and the fundraising initiatives that connect CCL’s conservation mission with the community members who champion it. Outside of work, you can find Mary Lovett at the beach, traveling, at a concert, or on her yoga mat.
