Do you live or own a business in Horry County? Then, please consider taking Horry County’s survey for their five-year review of the Imagine 2040 comprehensive plan. Give your input on how they should adapt to growth trends and include a Resiliency Element as mandated by state law since Horry County adopted the comprehensive plan in 2019. |
The comprehensive plan is the guiding document for the county’s vision for the future and is fully updated every 10 years, with a review conducted every five years. Horry County is seeking public input in the process through the survey and two in-person meetings in August.
The Public Meetings are scheduled for: Tuesday, August 5, 2025 Carolina Forest Recreation Center 5:30 PM-7:30 PM Tuesday, August 12, 2025 Government & Justice Center, Multipurpose Rooms 5:30 PM-7:30 PM |
The survey includes pleasantly surprising options such as prioritizing protecting wetlands, conserving greenspace, and supporting walkable communities. If you think traffic congestion is an issue in Horry County and would like to see more sidewalks, bike paths, and mass transit, this survey is for you! If you think flooding is a top concern that needs to be addressed, please speak up! |
The survey runs now through September and takes no more than 10 minutes to complete, but could shape Horry County for the next 10 years. Speak up for our communities, wetlands, and the future of the county today! |
