Coffee & Conversation with our Energy & Climate Interns

RSVP

Join us for a special presentation from two of our Conservation League interns at our Spring Street office on May 8. Ava and Dylan have been working with our Energy & Climate team this semester, doing incredible work to highlight low-income energy efficiency programs and rate hike changes in South Carolina.

Ava Ambroggio is a third-year undergraduate student at the College of Charleston, pursuing a B.A. in Political Science and Communication. She plans to continue her education with a Master of Public Administration after graduating next May. Ava will present the results of her research on the effectiveness of electric utilities’ low-income energy efficiency programs at relieving high energy cost burdens in South Carolina.

Dylan McGuire is a concurrent student studying Environmental and Sustainable Sciences and Public Administration at the College of Charleston. He looks forward to graduating in the spring of 2026 to begin his professional journey to help our world transition to cleaner, more renewable energy sources. Dylan will present a story map he created on recent rate structure changes at some of South Carolina’s electric cooperatives, and how the addition of residential demand charges could negatively impact working families and potentially disincentivize conservation.
