Interested in supporting local farmers and local families? Help us pack produce boxes for families with limited access to fresh fruits and vegetables!
GrowFood Carolina, the state’s first local food hub and a program of the Coastal Conservation League, launched its food access programming in spring 2020 and has since distributed over 30,000 produce boxes to families and communities in need thanks to the help of our partners and supporters.
GrowFood Carolina is partnering with Charleston County School District’s Head Start program, and Blue Cross Blue Shield to expand our program and increase the number of families who receive fresh, local produce. At GrowFood, we are so excited for this opportunity to support children, families, and our local farmers and need your help making it happen
Over the course of the next few months, we’re seeking volunteers to join us in the warehouse for short shifts to help pack fresh produce boxes for children.
Volunteers can expect to be packing boxes, handling fresh produce, and standing for periods of time. This is a great opportunity to support local farmers and help provide healthy, local food to children that don’t otherwise have access.
