Charitable Trust

Charitable Remainder Unitrust (CRUT)

A charitable remainder unitrust allows the donor(s) establishing the trust to name a beneficiary to receive annual income from the trust for life and/or terms of years. Once the terms are complete, the remainder of the trust will transfer to a charitable organization.

Because a charitable remainder unitrust is tax exempt, it is a wonder vehicle for gifts of appreciated assets.

Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust (CRAT)

A charitable remainder annuity trust is an irrevocable trust established by a donor(s). The trust provides guaranteed annual payments to the donor until the end of the trust term when the remainder of the trust will be transferred to the charitable organization.

A charitable remainder annuity trust allows you to provide for yourself and the charitable organizations you care about most.

Charitable Lead Trust

A Charitable Lead Trust is an irrevocable trust established with a gift of cash or other property. The trust will provide annual income to one or more charitable organizations for a specified time period. Once the terms are complete, the remaining assets will be transferred to the donor or other non-charitable beneficiaries.

If you are interested in establishing a charitable trust, please contact your financial planner or attorney.
